Naturally drawn to spiritual teachings and physical practices, Betsy found yoga in the late 1990’s. Shortly thereafter, she was compelled to teach after acknowledging her own personal growth through yoga. Betsy began to notice a deep sense of peace and balance in her mind and body when she practiced yoga. She knew the gift of yoga had to be shared with anyone that would listen! So, since 2002, she has been leading yoga classes throughout the Lafayette and West Lafayette area. In addition to being an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher, Betsy is certified to teach Pilates through Pilates Method Alliance. Gifted with the heart of a teacher, Betsy graduated from Purdue University in 2001 with a degree in Special Education. She spends the academic school year teaching high school for the Tippecanoe School Corporation. Betsy strives for growth in her own life as a learner; she is currently finishing her master’s degree in education and continues to deepen her yoga studies.
Betsy’s initial yoga training was under the guidance of Nikki Myers and Marsha Pappas at CITYOGA School of Yoga and Health in Indianapolis, Indiana. Along the journey, she has gleaned knowledge in other areas of yoga, including meditation, prenatal yoga, Yoga of 12-Step Recovery/addiction, Thai Yoga Essentials, yoga for eating disorders, and numerous other forms of health and wellness that contribute to a balanced body, mind, and spirit.
Gratefully, Betsy finds purpose in life through teaching the principles of yoga for the benefits of a healthy and a well-balanced lifestyle, on and off the mat. She continuously witnesses people transform through the practices of yoga and believes that yoga is for everyone!
