Happy International Yoga Day! Here we are once again at the summer solstice, a day of light, and the official start of summer. It’s a day we’ve chosen to celebrate and share yoga all over the world! But, what is yoga really?
Yoga is a lot more than the postures it’s been turning into. Yoga is a tool. It’s a means of teaching us how to manage and direct our attention, it’s a tool to learn how to change our reactions, responses, and actions. Yoga is a connection. Yoga is a meditation. Yoga is uniting our soul. It’s skill in action. It’s equanimity. Yoga is a set of practices. It’s an exploration. Yoga is about getting to know our self, our inner nature, and change our habits. Yoga is a way to disconnect from suffering. It’s a way to grow stronger and gain clarity. It’s a way to transform.
Most of all, yoga is a practice. It’s not about a posture. It’s about a deeper connection.
So today, take a moment to practice. Take a moment to breathe. Take a moment to connect.
